So.. I made a card game (for myself).
And then I made an online version too, because apparently I care about deep face-to-face conversations with the people I care about, but I'm apparently also committed to convenience lol.
I recently realized that, for the past 3 years, I've been collection soo many questions. Like actual questions I really wanted to ask my friends, but somehow never did. I just never found the moment and always felt like I needed to find an excuse.
So yeah this game is a tiny excuse
to ask the questions we don't usually ask, and say the things we don't usually say.
A note before you begin though ...
this game isn’t about rushing through the cards or giving perfect answers. What really matters is what happens after the question is asked. So take your time. You can ask follow-up questions, dive deeper, challenge what was said (kindly!), or just sit with it for a bit. Sometimes the best part of the game is the conversation that unfolds in between the turns. Move on when it feels right. No need to force it.
Some details: there is 3 distinct ways to play the game which you can decide on depending on your group sizes and dynamics,
whether you're playing with a close friend or with new classmates.
• I think it's best have 2-8 players (but the questions can also be used as journal prompts)
• I translated the questions into English, French and traditional Mandarin (translations might be weird sometimes, I'm still learning, feel free to let me know!!)
Anyway, that’s all. Hope it makes room for something good, or awkward, or at least midly interesting.
